Daniel Jipping of the Boise Hawks, the current Northwest League home run leader with 9, used the bonus round to his advantage winning the Home Run Derby at the Northwest/Pioneer League All-Star Game Tuesday night in Hillsboro, Oregon beating, Pioneer League finalist Robby Rinn of Idaho Falls 6-1 in the championship round.

Jipping blasted a total of 23 homers in the contest and later told the media, "I don't know where that came from, just a gift from God, I guess."

Jipping out slugged Eudy Ramos of the Hillsboro Hops 9-7 in the first round and just kept blasting away from there.

Jipping said if felt good to go yard so many times in front of the capacity crowd in Hillsboro.

By the way, The NW League All-Stars beat the Pioneer League All-stars 5-4. The NW League regular season resumes tomorrow night and the Boise Hawks will be at Tri City.
