Let’s Play Some High School Football

It's that time again, kickoff time for high school football and once again Sport radio 630 The Fan will be there with the game of the week.

The 2019 season begins tomorrow night, Thursday August 29th as the Defending 5A State Champion Rocky Mountain Grizzlies play the Borah Lions at Dona Larsen Park at 7 p.m.

Join me for for each play as the McDonald's Game of the Week makes it's 2019 debut.

Borah will come into the game having lost a ton of key players to graduation but the Lions still have Austin Bolt who can play quarterback, receiver, linebacker and most likely will at some point in the season

Borah was 6-5 last season and won their first playoff game in 23 years before loosing 37-34 to Coeur d'Alene.in the quarter finals.

The Lions are also thin in the trenches with just one starter returning to the offensive line from last year and no started on the defensive front.

Plus Borah will have to go with a new quarterback to replace Jake Standlee.

Rocky Mountain on the other hand was 12-0 last year and beat Highland for the 5A Title. The Grizzlies did lose running back Nick Romano, now at Idaho but Rocky won't be without a ton of weapons starting with Colby Jackson at quarterback.

Rocky Mountain goes into the season ranked no.1 in the state followed by Mountain View. Those two actually collide in week two, September 6th at Mountain View and yo can hear that game on 630 The Fan as well, again a 7 p.m. kickoff and McDonald's game of the week.
