Lexi Halladay of Mountain View has been tabbed the Gatorade Idaho Girls Track and Field Athlete of the year.

Halladay, a senior to be with the Mavericks has now won back to back Gatorade honors after a triple gold medal performance at the 5A State Track meet.

Halladay won the 800, 1600 and 3200 meter runs and in the process set a new state record in the 16-hundred meters with a time of 4:43.74.

Halladay is currently ranked 8th in the nation and on top of all her athletic achievements has a 3.77 GPA.

The Gatorade honor is based on athletic, academic and community excellence.
