Melba's wrestling coach, Ron Johnshoy will be layed to rest Wednesday at 2 PM. The 2A Wrestling Coach of the Year passed away December 23 in Lakewood, Colorado. He was 49 years old.

Johnshoy was the Melba varsity wrestling coach for 13 years, coaching his sons Kyle and Jared to a combined seven state championships. Johnshoy was elected to the City Council in 2013.

Johnshoy, an avid runner and outdoorsman, had a heart attack in April while running with students. After his most recent heart attack , Johnshoy was LifeFlighted to Boise and eventually transferred to a rehabilitation hospital in Colorado, where he died.

Johnshoy leaves behind his wife, Geni; one daughter, AnnMarie Kuhnau; two sons, Kyle and Jared, and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, in the Melba Junior Senior High School Potter Gym.
