Nevada is ranked 8th in the latest college basketball polls at 20-1 but don't count them in as Mountain West regular season champion just yet.

Five other conference teams are nipping at the Wolfpack's collective heals including Boise State. The Broncos get their second chance at the Pack this Saturday in Reno at 4 p.m.

Nevada is 7-1 in league with Utah State and Fresno State both 6-2. Boise State and UNLV are 5-3 and San Diego State 4-3.

Last night Utah State beat San Jose State 103-73 and Fresno State topped Wyoming 75-62 to stay right with Nevada.

The Pack has won six straight games since a surprising loss at New Mexico but remember, one of those wins was a three point shot at the buzzer to survive 73-72 in Boise.

Make no mistake, Nevada is the team to beat and Boise State will have to play flawless basketball Saturday to be close. The nice thing about conference play is you never know what will happen because while everyone in the league respects Nevada's talent, nobody fears the Pack but rather welcomes the challenge to raise their game.

Boise State is 3-1 on the road in league so maybe it's a good sign Saturdays game is in Reno. Boise State-Nevada 4 p.m. on the CBS Sports Network.
