Boise State opens fall football camp on Friday and the season September 1st at Troy. The Broncos are ranked in the top 20 of every major pre-season college football poll and the favorites of the non-five power conferences to earn a New Years Six Bowl bid. Wow, that's a lot of anticipation and pressure especially given Boise States September schedule with games at Troy, Oklahoma State and Wyoming. I thought it would be fun to rank Boise States 2018 opponents in a poll of their own. The top pick this year is easy peasy! Oklahoma State in Stillwater represents a huge challenge and could be a season defining game for the Broncos in regards to the National college football picture. So, starting with Oklahoma State, here is my Boise State opposition Top 11 1. Oklahoma State 2. Fresno State (The Bulldogs are the pick in the MW South and they'll be anxious to get another shot at Boise State considering last years finish) 3. Wyoming (The Cowboys have a lot of returners including the Mountain West Pre-season defensive player of the year Andrew Wingard who claimed during media days that the Wyoming defense is better than Boise State. BSU is at Wyoming September 29th) 4 Troy (The Trojans almost beat BSU in Boise last year and Alabama is a tough place to play a team looking to return the favor) 5.San Diego State (I have a hard time dropping the Aztecs to 5th but someone has to be there r other wise Aztec head coach Rocky Long wouldn't have anything to complain about Boise) 6. Colorado State 7. BYU 8. Nevada 9. Air Force ( I know, the Falcons seem to have Boise States number and maybe them being 9th is an indication of the challenge season ahead) 10. New Mexico (Another option team that frustrates Boise State but usually not for an entire game) 11. UCONN ( The Huskies are the weakest team on BSU's schedule but remember, they catch the Broncos after Troy and the week before Oklahoma State. Trap game? Probably not but it's why coaches don't sleep well during the season)
