Looking for something fun to do with the family close to home this year on the 4th of July? The Meridian Parks and Rec Department is presenting a full afternoon and evening of family activities to you celebrate the Fourth of July at Storey Park.

Meridian’s Independence Day Festival will kick off at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, July 4, at Storey Park in Meridian and culminate with a spectacular fireworks show, presented in partnership with the Meridian Speedway, shortly after dusk (approximately 10:15 pm).

Activities include three-legged races, hula-hoop contests and other games for the whole family as well as an inflatable obstacle course, slide and bounce houses.

You are encouraged to bring your own picnic into the park or sample food from some awesome yummy food vendors: Dickey’s BBQ, Kono Pizza, Rusty Dog, Idaho Five Star Funnel Cake, Kona Ice, Dutch Bros and more.

Live music starts at 3 on the main stage with Circus & Bread, followed by, Great Bait and finally, Simple Ruckus will close the night leading up to the fireworks show.

Races at Meridian Speedway will begin at 6:30 pm. For those who would like to watch the races or fireworks from the Speedway stands, admission tickets can be purchased at the Speedway box office or here: www.meridianspeedway.com.

Please note, personal fireworks will not be allowed in the park or the surrounding area due to safety concerns. Also, the Storey Bark Park will close at 9pm in order to secure the fireworks drop zone.
