Charlie Dodero had quite the game Wednesday night. He scored his team’s only goal in regulation and added the shootout winner to power the Idaho Steelheads (38-20-7) to a 2-1 shootout win over the Rapid City Rush (21-38-6) in front of 3,809 fans at CenturyLink Arena.

Tomas Sholl of Idaho, goalie of the week in the ECHL, stopped 26 shots to earn his fourth consecutive win. Sholl remains undefeated in regulation since joining the Steelies this season with a record of 9-0-2.

An interesting note, the Steelheads’ last five games at CenturyLink Arena have all gone beyond regulation with the Steelheads winning four of those games, two with overtime goals and two shootout wins.

The victory for Idaho reduced their magic number to clinch a playoff spot to 3 points. The Steelheads can clinch their 21st consecutive playoff berth on Friday when they host Rapid City with a win and a Tulsa Oilers regulation loss.
