The Final Four Football Style

This is semi final week for the Idaho State high school football playoffs and there really aren't any surprises in the final four of each division.

Mountain View the defending 5A champions survived a scare from Rigby beating the Trojans 14-13. The Mavericks only lead in the game was the final score.

Despite a 10-0 record and being the defending state champs. Mountain View must travel north to face Coeur d'Alene at the Kibbie Dome in Moscow. That game will kickoff at 5 p.m. mountain time. The Vikings dispatched Madison 66-22 in the quarter finals.

Fridays other 5A semi final will pair Highland, a 42-7 winner over Capital in the quarter finals against Rocky Mountain. The Grizzlies will host the game after beating Eagle 13-7.

Sports radio 630 The Fan will broadcast the Highland-Rocky game kickoff at 7 p.m. Jared Zabransky and I will have the call.

As in 5A action, the #1 4A team will also have to travel for a semi final showdown. #1 and 10-0 Skyview will be at Minico while Middleton will host Skyline of Idaho Falls, both Friday games kickoff at 7 p.m.

In 3A both semi final games will be played Saturday. Shelley plays at Fruitland at 1 p.m while Snake River and Gooding collide at 2:45 p.m. at Pocatello's Holt arena.
