The end result of round one of the Kelly Cup playoffs was rewarding but the path the Idaho Steelheads are taking in these Kelly Cup playoffs is at best frustrating. Idaho was down 3-nothing in it's series with Allen before sweeping the next four games to take the series 4-3. I admit it was exciting as Idaho became just the second team in 30 years of ECHL playoff action to rebound from a 3-0 deficit. But now Idaho is down 2-0 to Colorado in the divisional championship series and you have to wonder how many times can you play with fire before getting burned. Idaho lost 1-0 in overtime Saturday and then 6-2 on Sunday as the division champion Colorado Eagles took charge. Idaho has begun their last two series 0-5 and that's not a great pattern for success. The Steelheads will host games three and four this Wednesday and Thursday and a game five Saturday if necessary. Sports radio 630 The Fan will have a pair of tickets to give away for each game. To win listen to the Dan Patrick show between 7 and 9 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday and then Friday if there is a game five and be ready to call 208-275-8852 to win. The Idaho-Colorado series winner advances to the semi finals of the Kelly Cup Playoffs.
