Former Boise State golfer Troy Merritt has won the rain delayed PGA Barbasol Classic in Kentucky with a final round of 5 under par 67.

Heavy rain delayed the final round until today for 52 players including Merritt who was in a four way tie for first place after the third round.

All four players were at minus-18 for the tournament after 54 holes and then Merritt hit the biggest shot of the weekend as he holed a 133 yard eagle on the 8th hole to gain the separation he needed.

A pair of birdies down the stretch and his second PGA tour win was in the books. Merritt finished at 23 under par to win by one shot over Bill Horschel, Tom Lovelady and Richy Werenski.
