A huge second half rally helped lift Idaho to the 66-52 win over Northern Arizona on Thursday night in the Cowan Spectrum.  With the win, Idaho locks up the #2 seed in the upcoming Big Sky Tournament in Reno, and will get things started at 5:35 p.m. on Thursday night.

The Idaho defense was stellar on the night, holding NAU to 28.8 percent (17-of-59) from the floor and 28.6 percent (4-of-14) from beyond the arc.  The Vandals also dominated on the glass, winning the rebound battle, 44-31.

Brayon Blake registered his 10th double-double of the season with game-high 22 points and 14 rebounds.

Blake’s defense was also noteworthy on Thursday.  He picked up three blocks, including one ferocious swat at the rim on a dunk attempt that brought the crowd to its feet.

Idaho moves to 13-4 in Big Sky play and will finish in second in the regular season standings.  NAU falls to 2-15 and will be the #12 seed in Reno.  Idaho’s 21 wins are tied for the most under Verlin.  Idaho also won 21 games in 2015-16.

The Vandals close out the regular season Saturday night hosting Southern Utah. The game will be broadcast live on 630 The Fan, Pregame at 7:30 p.m. tipoff at 8 p.m.
