West Valley Advances

West Valley All stars from Eagle crushed Montana in the regional play of the Little League Word Series in San Bernardino California. After leading 14 to nothing after 3 innings, the 12 year old Danny May hit a triple in the 4th to put 2 more into home to take a 16 to 3 lead putting the team in position to take advantage of the 10 run rule. Coach Tony Hilde’s pitchers appeared to be trying too hard to get the outs and lost a bit of pitching control. A grand slam in the 4th by Billings took the score to 16 to 8 and extended play to a full game. Brett Tommasini retired the side as West Valley escaped the inning. West Valley went on to win 16 to 11 and play again on Friday.
