White pants after Labor Day is supposed to be a fashion no-no and while I really don't care what people wear after Labor Day it's the only reason I can think Boise State played the way it did Saturday against San Diego State.

There really is no other explanation. From the first snap this was a game completely out of Boise State character, as if the sunshine of a day game had completely sapped the Broncos of their powers.

I also know statistics are for losers but Boise State had 16 first downs to 9 for San Diego State, the Broncos ran 80 total plays to 59 for the Aztecs and Brett Rypien completed passes to 9 different receivers. Just knowing that you'd figure a BSU win every time.

Instead it was a 19-13 San Diego State win as ugly as they come. Need I say as ugly as their white pants?

After the game Boise State coach Bryan Harsin said he was unhappy the most with the offensive line play. Harsin saying "We're not good enough."

Harsin pointed to the fact quarterback Brett Rypien was always running for his life, he was taking big hits. Harsin said Rypien showed extreme toughness but he can't protect himself.

Harsin also talked about the running game saying "we have a good tailback we need to run the ball more effectively."

Since the year 2000 only eight teams have beaten the Broncos on the blue and San Diego State has done it twice.

Boise State is now 3-2 and have been four of the last six seasons and now they hit the road to play at Nevada this week 8:30 Boise time on the CBS Sports Network.
