Capital High School has a tradition of having great football teams. Coach Simis expects to keep the tradition going this season.

Coach Simis does not have to worry about changing the mind set of the new players. "The kids coming up from middle school know what they need to do. They know what is expected of them." Coach Simis says, "we are from perfect, and have a long way to go, but should be a contending team."

The Eagles do not talk about winning or loosing, but talk about what is expected of them and getting better each day. The Eagles believe they can be successful and it is just a matter of how much they improve each day, according to Simis.

The Eagles have three strong offensive line man who will be back on the roster for the 2015 season. Ben Vering, Jacob Molenaar and Bernan Leatham will all help the offense this season. Sam Brisixey (wide receiver) will also add depth to the Eagles passing game this season. These notable returners will not be the only ones leading the Eagles this season.

Coach Simis is looking for Drew Korfs (quarter back) to be a vocal leader and conduct the offensive. Jackson Bintner (line backer) is a leader in the classroom as well as on the field. Lastly, Braydon Ball (defensive end), has had a good offseason. Coach Simis is expecting a lot from these returners.

"If the summer is any indication of how the season will go, I really like our chances." The Eagles have just finished up summer work outs and will hit the field again on August 10th. According to Simis the numbers in June and July have increased and the kids know how to work.

With such a great summer, the Eagles will open up their season against Madison High School in Rexburg, Idaho. The Eagles played Madison last season so they have a decent idea of who they are. But as preparing for the season opener goes, Simis does not prepare differently, and makes it about themselves and not about their opponent.

The Eagles will have a tough first three games by playing Madison, Eagle and Mountain View High School. "Our pod is tough and all the teams are improving and getting better."

Make sure to keep up the Eagles this season, and the High School Game of the Week right here at 630thefan!
