The College football never really ends, teams just don't compete against one another for a few months.

Summer workouts are now underway around the country and just when you think you've seen every pre-season poll there is to see others pop up.

Two of those today involving both Boise State and Idaho. HERO Sports released it's pre-season FCS poll and the Idaho Vandals are #23.

Idaho will play football in the Big Sky this year and the Vandals are one of four Big Sky teams in the top 25. Eastern Washington is 4th, Weber State 18 and U.C Davis is 22nd.

The 23rd ranked Vandals open their Big Sky season at UC Davis September 22.

Meantime, Boise State was ranked as the #1 team in the group of five (G-5) non power conferences.

The top 10 is as follows:

1. Boise State, 2. Central Florida, 3.Florida Atlantic, 4.Memphis, 5.Ohio, 6. Marshall, 7. Navy, 8. Fresno State, 9. San Diego State and 10. Houston

Three of the top 10 in the pre-season G-5 poll are from the Mountain West Conference which says a lot for the league.

Boise State has early road games at Troy and Oklahoma State which are double edged swords. Wins would be impressive while losing both might well be irreparable in the over all New Years Six Bowl consideration.

Pre-season polls are pretty much meaningless except to keep the hype going for kickoff.
