The first real snow of the season fell most of the day at Bogus Basin and Tamarack. Tamarack actually received about four inches of snow by mid morning and the rain at Bogus Basin changed to snow about the same time.

As always with an early October storm the snow isn't expected to stick around for too long but it's the first sign the ski season really is just around the corner.

The real exciting news is the fact Bogus Basin has added significant new snow making gear expected to be in operation for the start of this season.

The hope is to guarantee skiing by Thanksgiving.
